Thoughts & Inspiration

Well, Ive been in the states for almost 2 months, preparing to leave for mission. When I found out my squad and I were here for this long, I was so angry. I though “this was not what I paid for!” and “I signed up to be a missionary, not sit in Georgia for 2 months.” With that being said, to world race leadership, and to the Lord whose plan is the one being followed, thank you.

Thanks for making me stay. Thanks for making me stay in the states where I did not want to be. Thanks for making me stay in a tent for a month. Thanks for making me stay on a campus with the same people everyday. Thanks for making me stay and listen to teachings. Thanks for making me stay in uncomfortability. Because WOW have these things grown me.

All that to say, Ive learned a lot about myself and the Lord and the people around me these past 2 months. So, heres a list of 15 things ive learned from my time in Georgia. Enjoy 🙂

  1. Maturity is a choice, not an age.

  2. We can receive His freely given love to know Him far.

  3. You have to chose into the season youve been placed in. you have to chose into time with the Lord for growth. No one can do it for you.

  4. You can believe in God but not be saved. Belief and salvation are 2 very different things.

  5. My relationship with the Lord is not an endless pursuit of Him fixing my problems. A relationship with the Father is praising Him for who He is and celebrating in your struggles and giftings, asking the Lord to use them.

  6. Our God is a personal God. That is why we pray. MAKE IT PERSONAL!

  7. If this isnt about Him, you wont get far.

  8. You have to create your own space to feel loved by the Father.

  9. Our faith is an overflow of the good news of the gospel.

  10. Unforgiveness is having a poverty mindset of the grace of God.

  11. We must know and understand the suffering through the cross before we can gain and receive the power of the cross.

  12. We are not God, but we hold the authority of God as disciples.

  13. You have to learn to live interuptably for the Lord.

  14. God can do anything He wants to but He rarely choses to. We get the privilege of an invitation to do it with Him.

  15. Sin separates us from the plan of God, not the heart of God.

  6. Well, No. 1 pretty much summed it up: maturity is a choice, not an age. Our Father goes before you, He is your rear guard, He prepares a table before you in the presence of enemies, and He will never leave you nor forsake you. You are learning to see Him in everything everyday everybody, amen, because He is I AM.
